Denise Simpson (played by Lorraine Bruce) has worked at Right Buy U for years and is happy and content in her job. This didn't stop her setting up the lottery syndicate with Assistant Manager Stuart though and she fastidiously puts the numbers on every week. She's a ‘glass half full’ type of person and a constant optimist. She has a sweet and trusting nature and is always hopeful their numbers will come up.

Denise is 44 and lives with her domineering, bed-bound Mother and her husband Dave in her Mother's terraced house. Her two beloved dogs are her best friends but also substitutes for the children she never had. Denise has a wonderful, characterful nature and even though scars of a miscarriage years ago are still raw, she still has a smile for everyone. Things are about to change for Denise and not necessarily for the better.
